Types of Cameras
There are many different types of CCTV cameras on the market for many different applications. From just a simple internal static camera to watch a doorway to a full High Speed Pan, Tilt and Zoom camera that will cover a large area. Ashford Security can also install small pinhole cameras that are very discreet for those areas where you do not want a camera to be seen.
Types of Recording
There are two main types of recording that are used within CCTV system. The first on is onto a DVR (Digital Video Recorder), this is a unit no bigger than a DVD player that can hold a vast amount of data via a onboard hard drive unit. The hard drives vary in size anything from 160GB up. On the DVR's the camera's plug directly into the back and then the image will be displayed on a separate monitor. The DVR's come with either USB drive or DVD drive for the use of getting images and data off the DVR unit.
The second method of recording is via your computer system. We would install a card into the computer, then the camera's would connect direclty into this card. This will then allow the images to be recorded directly onto the computers hard drive and displayed on the computer monitor.
